Welcome from the Chair of Governors

Welcome to the South Failsworth Primary School website from the Governing Body

The governor’s role is to work closely with the Headteacher to provide the very best environment for teaching and learning, thus providing the best education that we can for all our children.

The governors are responsible for monitoring and evaluating the performance and effectiveness of the school, for ensuring that the budget is managed prudently and for supporting our excellent staff.

The full Governing Body meets once per term and each governor is a member of at least one of the three main committees:-

  • Committee for School Improvement
  • Building and Health and Safety Committee
  • Finance and Legal Committee

These committees meet between once and twice per term, dependent upon the business to be discussed or resolved. Other committees or sub-committees are formed to deal with specific issues that arise from time to time, for example the appointment of new staff.

The Governing Body and committee meetings are minuted and are currently available via the Headteacher.

The governors are keen to seek the views of parents, so please come and chat to us when you see us at school, in the playground or at any school function.

The school Website has been completely updated and from September 2015 will have a governor’s page that will enable us to update you of the ongoing governance of the school.

We feel extremely privileged to be part of the life of our successful and vibrant school. Your child will be afforded every opportunity to meet their potential whilst in the care of our excellent hard working team, under the leadership of Mr. Jones (Headteacher).
