What
Is SEAL?
The
social and emotional aspects of learning are the
underpinning qualities and skills that help us manage life
and learning effectively.
There are 5 social and emotional aspects of learning:
- self awareness
- managing feelings
- motivation
- empathy
- social skills
SEAL is
already being widely used in schools throughout the borough
(and the country).
The SEAL resource provides a framework for explicitly
promoting social, emotional and behavioural skills, with
built-in progression for each year group within the school.
The resource is designed to be implemented by all members
of the school community, including carers and parents whose
support is essential.
At South Failsworth we intend to roll in the SEAL programme
over the next two years. The themes we will look at this
year will be:

- Anti-Bullying (a short unit during anti-bullying
week)
