Welcome from the Head

Welcome to our website, which will give you a wealth of information about South Failsworth Primary School.

Our school is driven by its mission statement – ‘Inspiring and Creating Lifelong Learners.’

South Failsworth Primary School lies in a setting where we can provide excellent outside facilities for our children. We have extensive playing fields, which are regularly used for learning by our children and staff. It is where our Forest School thrives.

Our unique creative curriculum, 'Our World' has knowledge at its heart. We identify key knowledge and vocabulary to be learnt in each topic. Inspired to learn in exciting and creative ways, the children develop the skills they need to become successful lifelong learners. Key skills of communication, mathematics, ICT, problem solving, improving own performance and working with others are promoted through our curriculum.

Our dedicated and talented staff guide and motivate pupils to promote independence and a love of learning, preparing our children of today for the challenges of tomorrow. Support and challenge is provided to ensure success for everyone.

Here at South Failsworth we promote harmonious relationships and follow our three school rules: be safe, be ready and be respectful so that our children grow into responsible, well-mannered citizens, eager to make a positive difference to the world. In addition, we follow the ‘Secrets of Success’ to help our children in their behaviour, attitudes and values.

Our ultimate aim is that our whole school community works and learns together to become the very best that we can be. We want our children and our staff to reach their potential during their time with us. Our expectation is that children who attend our school leave us in Year 6 with the skills and positive thinking needed to achieve their ambitions and to lead happy, successful lives.

We value and respect a close, trusting partnership between home and school, working together to provide the very best start to a child’s education. We also have a very active PTA which raises large amounts of money through organising and delivering events for our children ranging from discos to coffee mornings and our parents fervently support these occasions.

This is a school where everybody is committed to the happiness, safety and development of our children. Parents tell us they feel welcome in school and our children tell us they love our school and love learning.

We offer a warm welcome to prospective families to come and visit our school. To make an appointment, please contact the school office on: 0161 681 6351.
